The National Ulama Conference of the Philippines (NUCP) convened the 3rd National Ulama Summit at the Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao City on 25-29 January 2010.

WEFOUND founders, Dr Omar Mababaya and Dr. Norlain Dindang joined the summit, being honorary members of NUCP. The Ulama summit, with the theme "Common Word towards a Common Peace" attempted to explore a common ground and framework for sustainable peace and development.

Distinguished international speakers were invited like Dr.'Elwi Amin Al-Sayed Khalil, representative of the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Ustadz Firdaus Bin Yahya, former vice president of the Singapore Islamic Scholars and Religious Teachers Association (PERGAS),Dr. Imam Addaruquthni, chairman of Muhammadiyah Da'wah Committee and Dr. Abu Hapsin, vice chairman of Central Java Indonesia Ulama Board. Dr. Khalil, a Professor of Islamic Law (Shariah) at Al Azhar University, lectured on “A Common Word Towards a Common Peace: Human Relations among Muslims and Non-Muslims in Islamic Law.

Dr. Imam Addaruquthni  delivered a keynote lecture on “A Common Word towards a Common Peace: the Muhammadiyah Experience” in Indonesia. Bin Yahya shared presented to the summit an interesting lecture on “Capacitating the Ulama for National Development: The Experience of PERGAS”. He elaborated on how PERGAS scholars and leaders organized themselves into a sustained network that work hand in hand with the government in securing collective peace and development of Singapore.

Following the three-year "Empowering the Ulama Project", the 200 ulama-led organizations and members of the National Ulama Conference of the Philippines (NUCP) met to establish a truly national network of independent ulama organizations.
